This song is about my grandmother, her dog we had to put down, and my grandfather who has dementia and can't speak or walk or recognize any of us. They've been married for over 50 years but he doesn't know that anymore. She visits him every day anyway.
lyrics
We climbed a mountain, a secret road. You held my hand, I held the dog in the snow. She's gone now, where did she go? The stairs a mountain. You live alone. You still hold his hand even though he doesn't know, and I wonder all the time: how do you cope? Through G-d & wine, alone.
